Last week - February 20th, DESC were welcomed to Sport HQ at the National Sports Campus to meet with Sarah Keane (CEO) and Aisling McKeever (Head of Education). Our club prioritizes the safety of both our members and the public and has decided to join Waterford City in raising awareness. Open water swimming provides incredible health benefits, but swimming during colder seasons carries additional risks. During the cold seasons, the risk of water-borne illnesses increases due to poorer water quality caused by heavier rainfall and reduced UV exposure.
