AGM 2025 - Recap

Thanks to those who attended our AGM on Monday November 24th 2025 at the Haven Hotel.  Whilst we had a relatively small turnout we reached the required quota of members and were very glad to welcome swimmers who are regularly on the beach and in the pool with DESC.   

DESC welcomed two new members to our Committee:

• Bryan O’Donnell - who joined us a few months ago and was fully endorsed last evening. 
• Noeleen Donnelly - a regular swimmer at Saturday Members Time

Both Bryan and Noeleen live in Dunmore East.

The following Officers were elected:

• Treasurer:   David O’Halloran
• Membership Secretary:  Tomas Hofirek

Other Committee members who continue are:
Aideen Byrne; Joanne Galvin; Ruth Whyte
Mary Dorgan, as outgoing Chairperson has moved to ex officio committee member for the coming year.
 

Sadly we say goodbye to Gaye Heffernan and Tanya Cunningham - but they are not far away for those occasional gigs!
 

Members present approved the flexible rotation required of our Committee to ensure the work continues and our good standing with Swim Ireland is maintained.  As a small non competitive Club we are not required to have a Head Coach. 
 

A good Open discussion followed and those present learned of achievements and plans - we are as ambitious as ever.
